Prerequisites Required Before Diving

Your Journey

Become a Diver in 4 Days

16:00 Orientation

You’ll meet your dive buddies and your instructor. We’ll need you to fill in some paperwork, so remember to bring your passport number and smartphone. We’ll introduce you to our photo/video guy who’ll have a chat about the excellent value packages we offer on the last day of your course.

16:30 Theory: Diving in General

During the orientation, we will also discuss the basics of SCUBA diving and start to introduce you to some of the core diving equipment. This is a great time to start getting hands-on with some equipment basics and get familiar with how the RAID online training system works.

08:00 Theory class

During Academics session 1, your instructor will work through the Physics and Physiology chapters with you and your group. This is where we will learn the effects of SCUBA diving on our bodies and how to counteract, or in some cases, avoid these things.

10:30 Break

Use this time to grab some food and fuel up!

12:00 Pool session

We’ll go over some swim and floating tests that are a pre-requisite (don’t worry, you don’t need to be an athlete to pass them!). Your instructor will teach you how to set up your equipment and once you are kitted up, you’ll jump into the pool! There you’ll learn all the skills required to be called an open water diver. At the end of the day you’ll be getting hyped up to go confidently to the ocean the following day. Things you should bring: Swimwear, sunscreen, water, towel.

16:00 Homework

Once you’re done in the pool, take a look at your e-learning! This is the final evening you’ll need to complete some homework before going into the water the next day.

08:00 Theory and knowledge review

Your instructor will go through the previous nights homework and a full review of everything you’ve done so far so help you with any questions you may have. And then... it’s exam time! Don’t worry, it’s multiple choice and you should be well versed after doing all of the previous quizzes.

10:45 Break

Use this time to grab some food and fuel up!

12:00 First Dive

You’ll head out to our custom made dive boat for your first dive! Maximum depth today is 12m. You’ll have your very own dive computer so you can see where you are on the dive. You will practice what you learned in the pool, just now in a deeper environment. All while, discovering the beautiful marine life in Koh Lipe. Bring swimwear, sunscreen, water and a towel.

14:30 Second dive

After a well deserved break on the boat you’ll go for your second dive. On this dive you’ll do some skills and practice your buoyancy while diving with your group. After each dive you’ll get feedback from your instructor on how to help you improve.

16:00 Back to land

You’ll return to the dive school where you’ll log your dives, calculate your air consumption and can enjoy a cold drink while enjoying our insane sunsets from the comfort of our social area.

07:00 Morning Dive

Today you’ll head out a little further from the island to enjoy some of our best dive sites and see some insane marine life like metre long barracuda and fingers crossed for our huge spotty friend - the whale shark! This time you can get up to 18m. You’ll do some more skills like an introduction to navigation.

10:00 Second Dive

Almost certified! But before we celebrate you still have one more dive to improve your diving and enjoy the amazing underwater world together with your instructors and buddies! At this point you will already feel confident about your skills, so you can focus on exploring with your team.

14:00 Let’s celebrate!

Once you’re back to the dive school you can log your dives and celebrate becoming a certified diver! Your certification is digital and recognized worldwide to allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 20m. Congratulations!

What equipment do I need to bring for my first dive?

For your first dive, all necessary equipment is provided by us. Just come prepared with swimwear and a sense of adventure!

How long does it take to get certified?

The duration varies, but our Open Water Course typically takes 3 days. Our instructors work at your pace to ensure you feel confident and ready before certification.

Are there age restrictions for scuba diving?

While there are age limitations for certain courses, children as young as 10 can start with the Junior Open Water Diver course. Safety is our priority, and we tailor programs to suit different age groups.

What if I find that the course isn't the right fit for me midway through?

If you discover that the course isn’t aligning with your preferences midway, we’re flexible and can discuss options to ensure your experience suits your needs.

Can I dive if I don't know how to swim?

While basic swimming skills are important, you don’t need to be an expert. Our instructors provide buoyancy control and water confidence training to ensure you feel comfortable in the underwater environment.

What requirements are needed before diving?

A medical questionnaire is typically required. If you answer “yes” to any medical history questions, a physician’s approval may be necessary. Safety is paramount, and we ensure all divers are physically fit for the underwater experience.
